WHY A HEPA FILTER? HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance) filters are used in hospitals because they are considered the best filters on the market today. Originally developed by the Atomic Energy Commission during World War II to remove radioactive dust which was invisible, but health hazardous, from manufacturing plant exhausts. A filter must collect 99.97% of a specific particulate that measures 0.30 microns, in a test established by the Institute of Environmental Sciences in order to receive the HEPA filter designation. However, the HEPA filter can capture 100% of all particulate sizes ranging from >100 microns down to 0.01 microns.
Universal use of HEPA filtration has been hindered because the high pressure needed to force air through a HEPA is unavailable from your forced air furnace fan. The power requirement is overcome by the PREMIERONE HEPA 500 System by positioning the filter parallel to, instead of across, the airstream. Polluted air is directed through the filter on a multiple pass basis making clean air available throughout the building. Combined with a pre-filter to capture larger particles, the PREMIERONE System is designed to maintain its performance rating for up to two years before replacing the HEPA filter. Change the carbon and pre-filter every six months.
REMOVE THE CAUSES OF INDOOR AIR POLLUTION While developing our air cleaner to work with any home heating/cooling system, our engineers perfected a design that permits the use of a filter that meets the HEPA standard, to capture the visible (above 40 microns), down the invisible, (40 through 0.01microns) particulate found in indoor air. PREMIERONE HEPA 500 is installed on the return-side air duct. Our use of an advanced pull and push design offers a double sound barrier. The motor pulls the air through the pleated filter and then pushes it through the HEPA Media Filter which acts as a double sound attenuator. The process is very quiet, and with zero pressure drop, will not interfere with the ability of the heating/cooling system blower to deliver clean, safe, healthy air to the building. Install a PREMIERONE HEPA 500 unit and enjoy clean air!
WHAT ARE POLARIZED MEDIA AIR CLEANERS? Polarized media filtration technology was designed and patented in the late 1970’s. It has been used for commercial and residential air cleaning with great success since the early 1980’s. Polarization acts the same way as a magnetic field surrounding a magnet. Individual strands of the special fiberglass filter media accept a very strong negative charge, (7000 volts DC) making each strand a contaminant collection cell. 98% of airborne particulate are measured below one micron. Standard cheap furnace filters have the capability of collecting a certain percentage of larger particles, but have very little, if any, capability of arresting the submicronic particles which just pass right through the pores of the filters. Our special media collects and electroplates even the smallest submicronic particle. HEPA filters also collect these submicronic particles, but a HEPA filter cannot be used with a normal furnace air blower. Instead of making the pores of Polarized media smaller to collect the submicronic particles, the electromagnetic field collects them without restricting airflow.
REMOVE THE CAUSES OF INDOOR AIR POLLUTION
PREMIERONE Polarized Media is designed to fit in your existing furnace as a replacement for other cheaper filters. The unit uses a small 24 volt transformer that consumes a mere 1 watt of power. Large particles are collected on the surface of the filter media and can be easily vacuumed off to keep air resistance low. The smaller submicronic particles will electroplate onto the fiberglass strands. Eventually the media needs to be replaced. Electrostatic Precipitators (EAC’s) work in a similar way, but when they stop working, a difficult and time consuming cleaning of the unit is required. With PREMIERONE, you simply throw away the dirty media and install fresh. It’s like getting a brand new air cleaner each time. In most residential applications, the center screen will need to be cleaned twice a year and the media replaced 3 times per year.
