This 3M 12"x24"x1" Filtrete High Performance ultra allergen 1" filter, also known as 3M 12x24x1 - 3M 2020DC captures at least 90% of large airborne particles from the air passing through the filter. They outperform all non - electrostatic air filters including three - month pleated, washable and fiberglass 1" filters. Filtrete high performance filters carry a, MPR, micro particle rating of 1250 or higher and capture small and large particles. They also meet the American Lung Association® indoor air quality guidelines. Asthma and allergies strike 1 out of 4 Americans. That's over 60 million people.  3m filters not only remove dust, pollen, pet dander, dust mites, mold, smog, spores, and bacteria they remove pet odors, tobacco odors, and some odors. Outstanding Filter December 31, 2009

This filter does an outstanding job capturing particles in our house.  Even if you don't change the filter as often as you should, it continues to excel.  It is the only filter I will buy since I have family with allergies.
